Más Allá : Resource Center & health clinic for the Undocumented & Latino and Indigenous vineyard farmworkers of Sonoma County

To bring visibility to the invisible yet vital community of Indigenous and undocumented Latino vineyard farmers, this space aims to foster resilience, community, and recognition.  This space will focus on vineyard workers ages 35-65 and provide them with a space that recognizes them as deserving of dignity and humanity, promoting perseverance and progress.

Sonoma County, home to over 423 award-winning wineries run on the backs of the undocumented Latino and Indigenous vineyard farmworkers, an invisible yet essential population who through natural disasters, rain or shine, harvest over 25 tons of grapes a day. Due to their socioeconomic status, this population faces marginalization ranging from labor exploitation, linguistic inequality, lack of healthcare, and lack of social/legal services.

Más Allá is a familiar place that recognizes the layers of vulnerability and resilience. These layers relate to the textures of vineyard farmworker hands. Oftentimes, it is forgotten that behind the rough, callous hands of a vineyard farmworker, there exists a softness that begins to tell the story of a parent, child, grandparent, etc.
